SentianAI and XORE, two Swedish leading innovative companies, form a strategic cooperation.

The ongoing electrification of the society requires the mining industry to recover significantly more metals in the coming years from lower ore grades.

Mining operations are battling variations in ore properties and mineral content that can significantly affect the processing plants’ ability to achieve a stable recovery rate.

To address these challenges, SentianAI and XORE are announcing their strategic cooperation today.

XORE’s technology for real time classification together with SentianAI’s machine learning (ML) technology enables improved recovery rates by ensuring that correct and timely actions are taken.

SentianAI’s new generation of AI powered supervisory control system proactively adapts process control variables based on data from XORE’s analyzer and other process data. It takes into account variations in ore properties and mineral content as well as variations caused by human factors.

XORE’s X-Ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers are installed in the concentrator plants of mining operations all over the world. By exposing a sample to x-rays, an analyzer can instantly collect data to quantify its metal contents.

To keep pace with increasing business, we are looking for a project manager to mainly coordinate with suppliers and clients around the world, as well as provide some support to our sales staff.

Job duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will be the lead coordinator for project logistics with suppliers in Sweden and clients around the world. You will be responsible for final delivery of projects, including both new products and spare parts. The core responsibilities include:

Developing and managing detailed project schedules and action plans, then monitoring them as they progress and making adjustments as needed
Keeping clients and stakeholders updated on a consistent basis, including managing those relationships to ensure the project is delivered to their satisfaction
Handling contracts with vendors and suppliers, make sure tasks are clearly assigned and communicating expected deliverables
Tracking project performances to identify areas for improvement, as well as overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation
Outlining budgetary needs and defining resource requirements for each project, then managing available and allocations of resources (both internal and third party) to deliver projects on budget

Where you’ll be working:

The work location for this role could be discussed, but ideally, it is at the XORE office in Skellefteå. The role also requires some travel to client locations around the world.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, engineering, business, or business administration, or similar fields, or equivalent experience
Experience with and strong knowledge of project management, including software tools, methodologies, and best practices

Skills and abilities

Capable of working both autonomously and in a team environment
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with good interpersonal skills that allow you to work effectively as a contributor and as a team member or a leader
Multi-task and prioritize in a high-paced environment, meeting goals and time frames even under sometimes stressful situations
Negotiate, with the ability to develop strong working relationships
Possess an analytical mind with a keen eye for detail and the desire to probe further into data
An adventurous sense of travel, comfortable with international trips to rugged locales

Job duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will be working with our on-stream analyzers that are part of the Boxray product line, but also with products still in research and development. The job will require close cooperation with clients to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback, and then apply that knowledge to fine-tune analyzers that are in operation at client locations, as well as to develop new features and products to further future sales.

The responsibilities of this role include:

● Gathering customer data and feedback, and screening it for potential improvements and/or product development
● Writing design specifications for products
● Creating programming code for the product in various languages (C, Python, HTML, etc)
● Implementing new features in product software
● Providing input on mechanical and electrical designs
● Troubleshooting products via remote desktop and on site when necessary
● Answering support questions from users and sales staff
● Communicating with clients and suppliers effectively
● Working hands-on with our installed products at client locations, dealing with software issues and basic mechanical and electrical parts

Where you’ll be working:

The work location for this role could be discussed, but ideally, it is at the XORE office in Skellefteå. The role also requires some travel to client locations around the world.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or similar degree
● Some experience with data processing, visualizing, and understanding
● Programming languages, for example C, Python, HTML

Xore signes METAA for China and Mongolia

Xore, a Swedish company specializing in onstream analyzers for the mining industry, announces that they have signed Metaa Technology as a distributor for China and Mongolia.
Mikael Normark, CEO of Xore, says “We are happy to sign Metaa as a distributor. After a period of informal cooperation, we are now taking the next step and forming a real partnership”. First business to Norway, smelters are going for on-line analysis

Following the opening of its new subsidiary, Xore now announces the first business to Norway.

“Over the last few years we have noticed an increasing interest from leaching plants and smelter operations. But lately we have seen them move from being interested in the technology to discussing how to apply it in their plants, and actually talking about investing. And it is one of these clients that now has put an order for a Boxray Compact on-stream analyser”, says Mikael Normark, CEO of Xore.

Boxray Compact is an analyser that can be equipped with sampling systems for slurry or solutions. This client only has liquid samples, no slurries. Highly corrosive samples, like electrolyte or cyanide leaching solutions, is not a problem, not even in combination with high temperatures.

“Our oldest analyser in this type of application is from 2001, and it is still in operation” says Normark. “We have had occasional business in this area since then. This year we will deliver two analysers to this type of client. The first one is installed next month and this one will be delivered in the fall. Given the interest from different parts of the world we think it is only the beginning of a new trend. Smelters and leaching plants are definitively going for on-line analysis now”.

With online analysis leaching plants and smelters are to be able to track material concentration in different steps of the process. With manual analysis it can take hours to find out, and by that time developments have continued even further. On-line analysis is a tool to spot trends early, which gives the operators time to fix the issues without putting on the brakes in production. This evens out dips in productivity, thereby raising the productivity over time.

For smelters it is a great way to monitor metal content in electrolyte. Keeping the metal content within a tighter window is a good way to improve productivity.

For leaching plants with recirculation of solutions it is a good way to monitor and predict material buildup in certain process stages. Online analysis helps them by enabling calculation of real time mass balance.

Xore opens subsidiary in Norway

Xore will open its first subsidiary, in Norway. “We are very happy to announce these good news, especially in times when there is not so much good news around” says Mikael Normark, CEO.

“Xore has had interesting discussions with some Norwegian companies, and the time has now come to open a local branch. This will pave the way for future business”, he continues. “Norway is interesting because they have mines and smelters that can benefit from our products. These clients are also close to our headquarters, which makes service and support easy to solve from day one”.

Xore has agents covering markets from North America to the Russian Federation. “We prefer to have some form of local presence and on these markets we have found sales partners with existing networks” says Normark. “Norway is close enough for us to be able to cover clients there with our Swedish staff. This gives us a short starting stretch, while all possibilities remain open for the future”.

Canadian Mineral Processors Conference

Together with Multotec we went to the 52nd annual Canadian Mineral Processors Conference, in Ottawa.

We listened to some interesting talks within our fields, but also equally interesting problems and solutions in completely different fields. It is a great way to come together and share experiences and get new ideas.

The people we met were very friendly and interested, the networking opportunities gave us some new friends and we hope we will get to work with them some way in the future.

We were really happy about the conference and will certainly come back another year!
